A Little Bit of History<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Brampton Horticultural Society was\na significant partner with the City of Brampton in their participation in the\nCommunities in Bloom International Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2007 the Boys and Girls Club\n\u201cCommunity Garden\u201d received a Recognition Award for their garden. This garden\nwas a significant programme that we had for several years. Our relationship\nwith the boys and girls in this group was very strong and ongoing for several\nyears.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The judges were extremely impressed with the garden and the youth\u2019s achievements. We were fortunate to have some very dedicated members who spent many hours supporting and encouraging its success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A direct quotation from the judges was <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 \u201cWe noticed the exceptional\nquality, beauty and care of your property. Thanks for doing your part to make\nCanada a better place to live. With gratitude and admiration from your\nCommunities in Bloom judges\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comments were made that this project did more than encourage horticulture, environment etc. It enabled the boys and girls to become well-rounded citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
